If a Seller lists a Prohibited or Restricted Product for sale in
violation of this Policy and the law, Jumia will remove the Product in question from
sell and apply appropriate financial penalties, per the
Penalty Policy.

– Laboratory reagents
– Medical equipment (glucometer, blood pressure monitor, etc.)
– Medical samples
– Baby milk
– Baby bottles
– Pacifiers
– Steroids
– Food supplements (without authorization)
– Aphrodisiac products
– Growth hormone (without authorization)
– Product to develop certain parts of the body
– Cream, soap, gel, serum, capsules containing mercury and its derivatives
– Cream, soap, gel, serum, capsules containing more than 2% hydroquinone
– Cream, soap, gel, serum, capsules containing corticosteroids, and corticosteroids
– Cream, soap, gel, serum, capsules containing retinol derivatives (vitamin A)
– Any chemical and cosmetic product sold without authorization from the regulatory authorities and the Ministry of Commerce
– Nicotine products
– Cigarettes
– Electronic cigarettes
– Damaged batteries
– Explosives / Fireworks
– Fuel and certain combustibles
– Toxic substances
– Radioactive products
– Coins
– Skin of certain reptiles
– Signal blockers
– Gas masks
– Camouflage clothing/items
– Military uniforms
– Tear gas
– Police shields
– Defense weapons (Knives, tasers, anti-aggression bombs)
– Rough diamond
– Slot machines and all types of gambling devices
– Pesticides (without authorization)
– Weapons and toys similar to real weapons
– Lock picking devices
Pre-approval to list products
Certain brands or categories of products may require pre-approval to list products or to add your offers to existing products. Please contact our support if you seek pre-approval to list such products.
Consequences for violations
Violations of Jumia’s listing policies may result in actions such as:
- Deletion of product listings
- Suspension of product creation privileges
- Returning inventory
- Destroying inventory in our warehouses without reimbursement
- Terminating the business relationship
- Suspension of or permanent withholding of payments
- Sale of illegal or unsafe products can also lead to legal action, including civil and criminal penalties
- Jumia reserves the right to decide in its sole discretion whether or not a listing is appropriate
