Commissions and Fees on Jumia
In order to sell on Jumia you need to be fully aware of the charges associated with partnering with us. Please note that jumia does not dictate the prices that vendors can sell their product at, but we strongly advise that you do not overprice your items. Overpricing a product will most likely result in minimal sales. That being said, Jumia charges a commission and other fees for each sale that you make. Shipping Cost Contribution Fee
The Shipping Cost Contribution is a fee that is charged to support the logistics involved in moving items ordered from one point to another. This fee is also based on the category of the ordered item. Bear in mind that the fee for Drop shopping items differs from items on Jumia Express.
The Pack Fee is a flat rate of GHC2 per item irrespective of the size or category.
Use the price calculation shown below for DROP SHIPPING items;
Formula: = (vendor price + shipping contribution + packaging fee) / (1-commission)
Example: In this example, we will use a commission of 8%.
If the amount vendor wants to receive is, GHC 200
Packaging fee: GHC 2
Shipping Contribution fee: GHC 3
Commission: 8% (which converts to 0.08)
=> (200+3+2)/(1-0.08) = 222.8260 → final price should be rounded up!
=> GHC 223
Use the price calculation shown below for JUMIA EXPRESS Items;
Jumia Express items attract storage fees as shown in the image below:
Formula: = (vendor price + shipping contribution + Jumia Express fee) / (1-commission)
Example: In this example, we will use a commission of 6% for a Medium (M) item.
If the amount vendor wants to receive is, GHC 1000
Jumia Express fee: GHC 12
Shipping Contribution fee: GHC 2.5
Commission: 6% (which converts to 0.06)
=> (1000+2.5+12)/(1-0.06) = 1079.255319 → final price should be rounded up!
=> GHC 1080
