Commissions and Fees on Jumia
At Jumia we are relentlessly committed to support your business growth and profitability while ensuring customers have the best shopping experience.
In order to support this objective in 2022, we have heavily invested:
- In technology to improve your current seller center platform and to launch the new seller center end of this year
- In marketing to increase the awareness around your products and boost your sales
- In logistics to increase the number of products we can store in Jumia Express and therefore improve the customer experience with fast delivery
- In free shipping on your products to foster e-commerce adoption and increase your sales
As you know, we are unfortunately facing global unprecedented macroeconomic challenges:
- Global inflation affecting all product categories across all areas where we operate
- Increase of the logistic costs triggered by the skyrocketing oil & gas increase
- Shortage and price increase of raw materials
- Increase of the marketing costs online and offline to run marketing campaigns.
In this context and in order to maintain the same quality of service for our consumers and our sellers, we are constrained to revisit our Commissions, Processing Fees (Shipping Contribution Fees) and Storage Fees (Jumia Express).
Please note that the final changes to the Commissions and fees will take effect on 1st September, 2022

Shipping Cost Contribution Fee
The Shipping Cost Contribution is a fee that is charged to support the logistics involved in moving items ordered from one point to another. This fee is also based on the category of the ordered item. Bear in mind that the fee for Drop shopping items differs from items on Jumia Express. For more details on the Shipping Fee for your specific item, CLICK HERE.
PACK FEE
Please note that starting 8th August 2022, Jumia will no longer charge Pack Fees and will therefore no longer package your orders received at our hubs. Vendors will be responsible for their own packaging. We will provide Jumia branded packaging materials for vendors to purchase on the Jumia platform. You can however use your own packaging as long as it conforms to our packaging guidelines.
You are advised to Review our packaging guidelines OR Purchase your Jumia branded packaging online.
PRODUCT PRICING (Drop Shipping)
Use the price calculation shown below for DROP SHIPPING items;
Formula: = (vendor price + shipping contribution) / (1-commission)
Example: In this example, we will use a commission of 7%.
If the amount vendor wants to receive is, GHC 1200
Shipping Contribution fee: GHC 10
Commission: 7% (which converts to 0.07)
=> (1200+10)/(1-0.07) = 1301.075 → final price should be rounded up!
=> GHC 1302
PRODUCT PRICING (Jumia Express)
Use the price calculation shown below for JUMIA EXPRESS Items;
Starting September 1st 2022, Jumia Express items will attract storage fees as shown in the image below based on the size/category and the number of days in storage:
Formula: = (vendor price + shipping contribution + storage fee) / (1-commission)
Example: In this example, we will use a commission of 6% for a Small (S) item, which was in storage for 45 days.
If the amount vendor wants to receive is, GHC 950
Jumia Express (Storage) fee: GHC 0.09
Shipping Contribution fee: GHC 3
Commission: 6% (which converts to 0.06)
=> (950+3+0.09)/(1-0.06) = 1013.9255 → final price should be rounded up!
=> GHC 1014

Getting Paid on Jumia
Jumia pays vendors weekly based on successfully delivered orders. Once you process and submit an item to us, keep track of the item from your Orders tab on seller center until it is successfully delivered to the customer. Once it is delivered, the value of the item will be captured in your account statement and the payout calculated.
In our weekly payment cycle, we effect payments once a week to vendors based on orders successfully delivered within the previous week.
Simply visit your seller center, click on the Reports tab and select “Account Statements” to see how much payout you should expect each week.
